Elda Muco, PAScapes post-doctoral researcher, participated in the Doctoral Days on Land.
The conference, devoted entirely to land issues – access, reforms, property rights, land markets, common property, urbanization of agricultural land, etc., brought together various perspectives from Africa, South America, and Europe.
Organized by the Pôle Foncier of Montpellier, the event took place from April 7 to 10 at the National Agricultural Higher Institute (#ENSA) in Algiers, Algeria, providing a rich space for dialogue and scientific exchange between doctoral students, young researchers, and land experts from the social sciences.
From first-hand experiences to in-depth academic discussions, the event highlighted the challenges and threats to access to land, while emphasizing the importance of securing land rights and responsible land management.
