Reading the Colours of Lazdynai

Last weekend, a team of PAScapes researchers headed out on an expedition to the mass housing district of Lazdynai. After spending weeks in archives, reading books, and listening to stories from local residents, it was finally time to thoroughly examine the neighbourhood in person.

The expedition focused on identifying the challenges and possible solutions for the groups of houses and public spaces, as well as the possible threats and opportunities present in the area.

Attention was also given to the small details that shape the character of the environment. The colours of doors, pillars, and balconies were compared and documented, and artefacts found in the surroundings were collected, including fragments of balcony mosaic tiles.
